OK you should have 2 power cables, 1 permanent live and 1 switched (ignition) live, are you getting power on either lead?

Hi,
Might be a silly question, but have you checked the fuse?
Would be the first thing I'd check.

some units will have a fuse in the back, as well as the cars fuse box.

Depends on the age/ model. I know its a Polo but believe me there are many models.
Fuse box can be under the bonnet on the rear bulkhead.
Can also be passenger side, under tthe parcel shelf,or drivers side under the parcel shelf. Best plan is look in your handbook if you have one

Also, the permanent live is often on a separate fuse as it is on even when the ignition is not.

Re: VW POLO 2000, car stereo power cable
The problem is now solved, because of the fuse there was no power coming in to the stereo, so i have changed the fuse, now it works as it should..
Thank you all..

Re: VW POLO 2000, car stereo power cable
Make sure you replaced it with the correct amperage, if you replaced it with a higher one and there really was a problem that caused it to blow, it could be dangerous!
