Talking Had my wheels stolen today..Off our wheelie bin!

Yes. It's true..
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
I suppose it was funny seeing me dragging the damn thing up the lane though. I'm having a 'repair crew' sent round to fit new ones. I guess I'd better get some locking nuts eh?
Unbelievable..!

Re: Had my wheels stolen today..Off our wheelie bin!

OMG

The things people steal nowadays. I think that's the strangest item I have ever heard of being stolen.

No doubt it will be kids needing the wheels for a go-kart.

Have you reported it to the police??

Re: Had my wheels stolen today..Off our wheelie bin!

Heh! Yeah, they're fingerprinting as I type! lol.
I'd LOVE to think that kids have nicked them for a go-kart, but kids round here don't 'do' go-karts! A bit of mischievous behaviour more like. If it was a go-kart then I'd be happy to donate! Kinda funny but mad as hell isn't it? First I've ever heard of such.
Pfft. Have to laugh.
Fair play to the council for the pit crew though!

Re: Had my wheels stolen today..Off our wheelie bin!

I reckon you ought to deter them from a future repeat by fitting odd sized wheels in stead, maybe a nice wheel barrow one on one side and a furniture castor on the other

Are the council going to charge you for new wheels, as they do for stolen/missing bins around here

Haha! I was considering one of those bright yellow wheel clamps!

No - no charge. Our council will give you a new wheelie bin once, after that it's £25.
I applied for a new one today but they said no need - we'll send our pit crew round to add some new rims for you.
pmsl.

Funny all in all, really.

Now I have an image stuck in my mind of a formula 1 pit crew being scrambled to do a quick wheel job on your wheelie bin.

They must have been really bored...I can't help wondering why they haven't got rich, and interesting lives that the highlight of their day is to steal the wheels off your bin.

Well, the repair crew came to fix it today but would you believe it.. The bin has gone completely now. The thieves must have come back for the rest of it!
