Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 5.
Tinky has just posted my thoughts to the letter. Good luck to both of you.
My moan is really, really trivial and a tad girly but I have to take off my bangles when I use my laptop because they hit the touch pad when I'm typing. I never take them off normally (well only for operations), people have been buying them for me for years, I have one for every milestone and until I had to take them off for such a silly reason I never realised how much a part of me they were.

15 minutes before I'm about to board my train to Euston *bing bong* the service will terminate at Nuneaton... meeting in SW1 at 1pm so no chance of making it. Thankyou Railtrack and Virgin Trains (again)

I'd have been knocking around yours for a brew if that announcement had come 15 minutes later

My moans: nothing too serious, just realised how out of shape I'd let myself become. Going to have to force myself to be a bit more active.
Also, my latest attempt at having a shower/mixer tap jobby of the non-permanent variety [clamps onto existing taps] that can actually take the water pressure in my flat did not succeed. I have a few more ideas of ways to strengthen/reinforce it, but if none of those work I'll have to fork out for the cost of 1 of the permanent variety that replaces the original taps, as well as the cost of a plumber putting it in.

I do. Sometimes my mate comes round for feeding - especially on Wednesdays, when his partner (female) is with her family. I do my fried egg because I don't like a runny yoke. He does his fried egg. Obviously being turning the heat up way too high.

If he turns the heat up too high, then I would have thought he's not a fan of a runny yoke either, in which case why don't you just do 2 eggs in the pan at the same time to avoid him cremating your pan?
Cooking an egg & not ending up with a non-runny yoke is easy, doing it to achieve a runny yoke, & getting the egg to the plate without the yoke breaking takes practice, especially when you're using a microwave instead of a frying pan [I don't have a cooker, just a micro, toaster, George Forman grill, sandwich toaster, & kettle]. When I have used a pan in the past [whilst living elsewhere], I found that getting eggs the way I like them [no brown/burnt bits, no bubbles in the white, runny yoke, basically like you'd see in a cartoon; as close to perfection as possible] requires using a very minimal amount of oil [put small amount on a piece of kitchen roll, then wipe the pan with it - needs to be 1 where the non-stick surface is intact], and a low heat [I prefer gas, much easier to control].

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 5.
My wee little moan: Drinking water. I love having water OUTSIDE of me, swimming, baths, walking in the rain.. But pour me half a glass of it and expect me to DRINK it?! Ugh.
I'm forcing myself because it supposedly aids weight loss and I do want rid of a few pounds, but.. I'm THIS close to just giving up, all because of something as stupid as not wanting to drink water. And I'm only on my 2nd glass!!

A quick off topic question: Do you like the George Foreman grill? More importantly, did you keep using it 3 months after purchase when the 'new toy' novelty wore off? I ask because hubby wants one, and I'm all for the healthier way of cooking food part of it, but I'm worried that it'll just become another thing to collect dust on the kitchen counter.

Have you tried fruit flavoured water like Volvic lemon? Its mineral water with fruit flavouring, so its more like a lemon drink, but with no sugar. Also, don't drink straight from the tap, bottle it and stick it in the fridge or freezer until its just above ice-old.

I've got one years ago and its amazing. The amount of fat it gets out of food is quite incredible. It works too well sometimes. The top is heavy which squeezes the food a bit which gets out every bit of fat and juice leaving food a bit dry. Its a doddle to clean. I definitely use it as much now as I ever had.
