I find that when I am hungry, eating a large plate of chips makes my hunger go away.

I am trying the water thing Stu. I read somewhere that if you add ice cubes, it helps burn up more calories, every little helps eh? So far I am well pleased with my weight loss after only five days.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 5.
Silly question then maybe? But do they get knocked about a bit, as the HDDs in these boxes seem to be fairly sensitive as they are almost constantly spinning while it is out of standby mode, I suppose this is due to the instant nature of the Sky features

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 5.
As I said none of these boxes are new with 2nd user or 3rd or 5th you never know how long these things are gonna last for .I guess ive just been unlucky with the refurbs ive been given .This is my first V3 model the others were v1 or v2 so quite a bit older .I thought the V3 at least had a chance but that wasnt to be.Yet another load of recordings lost

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 5.
Sky+ boxes cache TV - so you can rewind. Lot of disk chatter. End result is a disk that has the lifespan of a server disk - i.e. not very long. I've turned off the caching

Bloody winged things. Just had something large zoom at me on the stairs. Me no like buzzy things Legged it for the fly spray and gave it a good spray. Trouble is, I have a brown carpet - makes it tricky finding the body. As it happens, it made it to the living room, and landed on the laminate. Still alive. Turns out that it's a bee. Feel a bit bad now. Thought it was a wasp. Not sure where it came from

Hmmm. Not so keen on spiders neither. I let them be but don't like the giant ones with hairy legs - have to be carefully gathered and moved elsewhere. I did have a black, four-spot ladybird in the bathroom - the ivy in the garden was full of them. Until the neighbour hacked it all down Don't mind them at all.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 5.
Bah! I want a bread bin..one that takes 2 standard loaves.Surprise, surprise all the ones I can afford don't take 2 loaves.I may be lucky to get one loaf or one and a half loaves to fit and it's surprising how many retailers and manufacturers fail to even give any measurements either.
The only one that comes near in size is a Nigella Lawson product. The Amazon reviews are mixed(apparently the lovely wooden chopping board lid isn't air tight and keeps warping) and it's £50.
Give me a break..I can see how Nigella is a millionaire in her own right at these prices but that price for a substandard product?
I wonder if I can find some one to make me a wooden box with a lid which is at least 50 cm w x 50 cm d x 30 cm h? I'm damned if I can find anything that size online.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 5.
Sister had a baby girl on Friday, 34 weeks - premature but seemed ok - so I'm going up there to visit on Saturday (She was at a hospital in Harlow, I'm in Croydon - so it's a 90 to 120 minute drive - Mrs Monkey is far too uncomfortable, being 7 months gone, to sit in the car for that long, so I'm going on my own - which in retrospect is a good thing ).
I get there to be told that they've found a problem with her plumbing, and as a result poo is coming out of the front, rather than the back - and that she doesn't actually seem to have a bottom-hole - it just seems fused shut. As a result, she's going to need an op - she also has a heart murmur, but apparently this happens alot with prems, and tends to clear up - and they're trying to get her a bed at Great Ormand Street.
My sister is obviously upset - this is worsened by the fact that her other half is out in Saudi at the moment, as a bodyguard - he was coming back but couldn't get a flight straightaway.
So I drive her back to her house, so she can get clothes for several days, since they let parents stay at GOSH.
I then drive her back to the hospital - by now it's about 3pm-ish - and we're told that they're trying to arrange for the ambulance to come and get the baby - but - they won't take her with them - so I say I'll drive her down to GOSH when the ambulance comes.
Ambulance eventually comes at close to midnight - all of which time we've just been sitting around the hospital.
So I drive her down there, it's close to 1 by the time I get there, and once they're settled in and she's got her room and is about to go to sleep it's going on 1.45.
I then have to drive home from there which is another 50 odd minute drive, so I don't get back until gone 2.30.
So, all in all, although I feel like I've had a lousy day, it's dwarfed by what my sister is going through.
We then find out this morning that the baby has 2 holes in her heart, and will require an operation for that as well.
Baby has had an op today for the plumbing problem, and currently has a colostomy bag, and will carry on with that for the foreseeable future until she is bigger for the re constructive work she will need.
It just makes me so sad to see, and knowing that we're not that far from having a baby, really makes it hit home just how fragile these things are.
