Got to my parent's and let the GP in the gate  Mum not looking too well - holding her chest. GP though it was a chest infection but she has a history of blood clots, so called an ambulance. Spent much of the day at the hospital with her - brought her home at just after 21:00 They did tests and the D-dimer is high, indicating possible PE (blood clot on the lung)  They gave her an injection - has to go back tomorrow for another one, and again on Monday for a CT scan. Bit worried

Really P.O.'d at the moment. I get used to using something [software], only to find that it can't cope with a particular task, so have to either do without or find another product/tool that can & learn that. I'd really started to take a shine to modifying sites to look the way I wanted them to with CSS, using the Stylish extension for Firefox only to discover that when designing the CSS specs they left out the ability to select a parent element by its contents. 
Did it never occur to anybody in the decision making process that perhaps, just maybe, some people may want to select [for example] a whole paragraph based on just 1 word or sentence? Sure, if it's static html & you're the 1 making the page in the first place, then you can just add in a class or id to the relevant paragraph tag[s]. But what if it's generated content, or it's not your site* [as in my case], & you want to do it without resorting to javascript [or yet another piece of software]?
*For anyone that's wondering, I'm not trying to change anything on the site itself, only how my browser displays it.

sorry to hear that, but at least it sounds like she has had a timely diagnosis, & the anticoagulant should help - let us know how she gets on ...

Sort of homey. She gets blood clots after operations. The last operation she had was in January... Yeah - the drugs should dissolve it.

it's 1am on a Sunday morning - and I'm working - trying to solve an issue with some guys in NY - and it's not even my software's problem...
been at it for nearly 3 hours now - came home after an evening out - Dinner and (thankfully) 2 bottles of beer - got a text asking if I could look at a problem, so my quiet remainder of the evening has gone out of the window.
Still on the brightside, the meter is running, if you know what i mean.

On the 1 hand I can imagine it's a real pain to have your evening cut short like that, but on the other it must be kinda flattering.
