I have a job interview tomorrow with virgin media for a cable guy - Page 20

Where did you apply for? I have an assessment day in Manchester this week, so I assume all the telephone interviews have passed now.

I have never been so nervous, the job is my dream and a must given my current situation.

My presentation is to talk about myself for 4 minutes in front of assessors, so mine seems a little different than some on here.

I applied for my in reading it says on virgin that is still processing how long did it take u to hear from them lanky lad and did the test online they sent you thanks

Ive also didnt havent had the assessment day yet and what was the telephone interview like what they ask you.

Mine says completed, the only test I have done is an online customer service scenario questionnaire with my application.

My whole turn around has been really quick, applied online on the 11th, phone call on the 13th to offer phone interview, had the phone interview the day after on the 14th. Received email and call inviting me to assessment day on 22nd so now have that to attend this week.

Some areas do seem quicker at processing than others though, so hopefully you will still hear something.

I am only in my early 20's so I'm hoping they are not looking for 30+ with 10 years experience etc.

Mine still says submitted i applied 24th jan and still nothing back but it closed then re opened the next day so im not sure and same im 20 mines for a apprentice position good luck hope you get it i think there looking for younger people one my dads sons got job with sky and he not experience and his in his early 20s

Drop them an email they might be able to advise you on where your application stands.

Cheers, I don't really like assessment days, I'd much rather meet the boss' and have a deep chat.

The telephone interview was just scenario based, explain when I worked as a team, over came a problem, things like that. Luckily I have worked in sales and carried out install work before so I managed to have a few in the back of my mind.

Same prefer to do one to one instead of assessment day

Did they call your home phone or mobile.

They have contacted me on both phones. Usually a blocked number so make sure you answer those.

I have just got home from assessment, was a good testing day.

I don't think I will get the job as others had a lot more experience but you never know.

I was a courier with no experience and got in

did you not need experience to do to because i applied for the position as a apprentice but might go for the technician aswell

Hey guys, i've applied for the field technician apprenticeship on the 29th feb and still not heard back. During the application it did say assessment days are on the 8th and 9th of May so I guess that is why i'm not getting such a quick response.

Also if you miss their call will they call back again? I have been keeping my phone on silent with me at work so I know if i miss a call, but I cannot answer them at work.

When did it say the assessment days are? I think the posts above ours have applied in a different area and their assessment days are nearer where as it said the assessment days are on 8th and 9th May so it may be some time before we hear.

I have had a call today saying I have not got the job, however I was not unsuccessful, and I passed all the interviews and assessment day and they are putting my details on hold.

So I'm successful but no job to fall into?

Confused as hell right now...

Gave them a call and they said 'these jobs come and go all the time so hopefully we will call you'

I cant work out if my details are being put on file, to never appear again, or whether I have been successful and once a job vacancy is there I will be the person to fit into it.

Confused.com!

Anyone have experience of this, or can any virgin employees help?
Really hope I land this job sometime soon.

Well something strange has happend to my application. I signed in to my application on Virgin's recruitment site and my application status has changed from "Submitted" to "Withdrawn".

The vacancy is also no longer on their website which is odd because I originally found it on the jobseekers site which said closing date is 8th May.

Anyone else had the same thing happen? I've got no emails from them saying I was unsuccessful.
