Patio Heaters ban
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/skynews/200...n-45dbed5.html is it time to ditch the patio heater? would a wood burning one be ok??
Quote:
Smokers face being left out in the cold if Euro MPs slap a ban on patio heaters as part of the battle against global warming.
The UK pub and catering industry claims the move would cost £250m a year in lost trade.

Re: Patio Heaters ban
Idley wonders whether the 'ban' will apply to all types of outdoor heating - eg electric radiant heaters.

Re: Patio Heaters ban
Well perhaps if global warming takes hold we won't need patio heaters...

Re: Patio Heaters ban
I read a short article this week that referred to a book, I think by some well known tree hugging writer who has now decided it takes more CO2 to walk to the shops than use the car.
I think this was based on the fact that replacing the energy you use walking to the shops uses so much CO2 in the food processing process.
It does really prove that cyclists should be banned, they are producing all that CO2 cycling their guts out just to give their ar*e a rest.

Re: Patio Heaters ban
And what about BBQs that use the same fuel source - i.e PatioGas? Need heat to cook those burgers in the summer*...
* For those that don't remember summer, it's that day in July when the temperatures hit 95 degrees and we all complain about it...

Re: Patio Heaters ban
So how do these compare with the millions of central heating boilers kicking stuff out all the time.

LOL! they dont have them down this way as people would half inch them, so they have the ones that are bolted to the walls. Im not sure if they are included though, i would imagine as they would be just as inefficent.

Re: Patio Heaters ban
Are you calling the Belfast girls tools?
I'm interested about you finding pub doorways cluttered, didn't realise you left very often to encounter the problem.
