selling pictures

I recently went urban exploring and got some good pictures. Well I hope I did. Been told I should try to sell some of em but I dunno where to start.

Any ideas?

Depends on what the photos are of really. There's varying degrees of stock image libraries which will pay out varying degrees of fees to you, usually on a percentage basis.

FotoLibra is normally the place people start, the payouts are not very good, they don't seem to sell that much, but they don't put wild image quality requirements on images you upload, which can be a little intimidating at first and it's free to join up for amateur photographers and there is a photographer forum to discuss...so a good place to start.

Talking of file sizes, most big name liblaries, such as Alamay and Getty require 50mb plus files, generally in TIFF format - not as easy as you might thing for all but high-end cameras.

I found this site, as I am trying to get into photography as a hobby, any pics I get that I think are decent enough, I will try and do the selling. as long as it costs me nothing but get something

I don't know any sites, and I cant recommend any, but if someone does know of any sites to be a part of to sell then take their advice.

I think January's edition of Digital Photo magazine, or maybe December's, covers how to get your file/image size up to the requirements without losing quality
