I usually do mine in April May time when i get my P60. Main reason being i usally get cash back so the sooner the better. Recently ive been told that i do not need to complete one unless my circumstances change
I have the dubious pleasure of doing my own self employed return and a more complicated trusts return. Normally get them done in August and enjoy the rest of the year without having bad dreams about the damned things.

I've been on that for a while now, never really know now if they are ripping me off or I am ripping them off - especially regarding interest earned and tax paid.

You need to be careful with that. I was told the same but submitted in 06 for other reasons which the have failed to look at yet, but processing the basic details on the return resulted in an eighty quid refund.
So you need to weigh up the cost / benefit of not submitting.
Quick question is it possible to print off previous years ???

As far as I can remember you can get copies of returns that you have submitted previously on line, I think it's one of the options on the first screen after you have input your pin and password.
I'm self employed and do my returns on line in May at the end of my accounting year. I find that I sleep better knowing they are out of the way.
