Re: Any bikers out there?

Used to be started with a KH125, then a GPX250 and finally ZX6R
ZX6 used to scare me shocking! but a great laugh
Sold it one year and never went back on

Would love another now but wife and kids makes you think different especially when you see some of the driving now on the roads.

Not sure of your age but the bike would suggest the younger end of 20? - Remember your life savers because they just might save it and expect the unexpected - Ride safe and don't try show off because normally people come off!

Hi mate I'm 28,29 in May
My brother had an Aprillia supersport 96 year about 10 years ago now so he would of been mid 20's
Ever since then I've always wanted a bike.
I defiantly agree with you on the safety issue.
I certainly won't be going too fast on the bike.

Re: Any bikers out there?

Good for you, Ginge, trying something new.

A comment though - am I the only one who finds the two phrases "125cc" and "rs supersport" slightly oxymoronic?

No you're not. Nice Avatar mate

I've always wanted to ride a motorbike, but never had the cash to buy one really, and now, with icy roads about 50% of the year here, me thinks it's taking a backseat (excuse the pun) until i'm in a slightly warmer country

In this country yes, but unrestricted as they are in their place of birth they are quite fast, I think they turn out about 30bhp which in something that weighs about as much as a bag of chips can be quiet potent.

I have been a biker for many years but hung up my spurs a few years back. I still occasionally hire a bike if im on my hols in sunny places. The British weather is getting to my bones a little now though.

Without wanting to pee on your parade, can i kindly suggest that if you are a brand new biker, you get yourself along for some good quality training?

When i passed by bike test, all i had to do was ride round the block a couple of times.
The very first bike i had, i went to an RAC/ACU training scheme and spent a few months getting very good at biking.

It stood me in good stead. I have never had a motoring accident in my life.

The key to good biking and staying alive is good observation, anticipation and always plotting an escape route if it goes wrong.

Good luck and be careful out there
Oh by the way

There is an old saying in the biking world...

There are old bikers and bold bikers....
But there are no old bold bikers.
