Im after a ford focus.

My young lady has bothered me so much i finally agreed to get a new car.

So as young ladies do they want the first one they have seen and we have put a desposit down (£50)

And i have 1 doubt and no point asking the guy selling it as they are all bent

So here goes.....Is it a Zetec or not? I was wondering if anyone here knows
Details of the car:
ford focus flight 1.6
reg SO04 xxx
its a 2004 model
5 doors
16v
1600cc
petrol
manual.

Its sold as a 1.6 zetec but i cant see any mention of zetec on the car itself (i know sometimes they unbadge them) and after filling in various insurance quote forms none of them had the car down as a zetec just a ford focus flight...

So anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Im after a ford focus.

I'd remove that reg for a start off this site, if you buy it you've just given some criminals the info provided for a false plate

If you're unsure about the engine, you can usually pop the bonnet and it will be on top of the engine. I think most Fords are Zetecs tho.

Has it got red needles for the speedo and rev counter - one easy way to tell or go to http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/status_checks/ and do a reg search, it's free to search the reg plate

There is a Climate Pack available for the Focus Zetec which has a/c, elec heated mirrors and heated front screen but afaik the only standard options for the Focus Zetec of your list is the front fogs, alarm, sports seats, trac control (from 2003) and lumbar control - oh and of course red needles

Re: Im after a ford focus.

I would say its not a zetec. especially if insurance companies say it is, they have the spec on nearly every car right.

why would someone debadge a zetec to be a flight? thats going backwards

Thats not strictly true ik. My car is a 1.6 and everytime i go through the whole applying for insurance etc and give my reg, i get told its a 2ltr. I've checked this out with Renault, who assure me its as it says on my V5 - a 1.6.

Re: Im after a ford focus.

You all seem to have the wrong idea,Zetec is the name given to the 16 valve engine that Fords had developed for them by Yamaha, fitted to fiesta, focus, puma and modeo. it is not the levels of trim or accessories.
