Breakdown cover
Currently have it though the CSMA although its due for renewal at the end of January.
Wandering who to go with... Tempted to go with the RAC since If I upgrade my bank account to "additions" or "Additions plus" I get the RAC cover as part of the package.
http://www.barclays.co.uk/current-accounts/
The extended warranty cover looks useful also

Thats a good point I need to check the intranet when I get back into work as they have their Breakdown cover with the AA and I think we can get a discount

Re: Breakdown cover
Was with Green Flag till they refused to come and get me after an accident as they said the car hasnt broke down you have broken it..
Now with the RAC as the cover is for the person and not the mode of transport your on / in, very handy for me as I have a car and a motorbike

In my experience both RAC and AA are very good, but I would put RAC slightly ahead as they seem to arrive more quickly (but this could be a local issue).
At one stage we had both RAC and AA cover at the same time, as my wife had used her "call allocation" for the year. We earned a lot of Nectar points that year...

Re: Breakdown cover
I would go with the AA, I Have been a member for nearly 20 years and never had a problem.
Back in 1991 I had a major car smash, luckily I walked away with severe shock, I had relay and they took my car to my home address,
Even tough I was with out a car I still kept the membership running.
When I started a new job I cancelled Relay, leaving me with just Raodside & Homestart cover, after 15 years of membership I was give Complimentary Relay, I will never leave the AA even though I pay about £100 a year.

Have been with green flag for 5 years. On the few occasions I've needed them, they have been excellent.Never had more than 30 minutes wait.
Have personal cover for my wife and me, plus car cover, whoever is driving.

Re: Breakdown cover
I have a Gold account with LloydsTSB which gives me AA's Roadside Recovery and I have added Home Start and Relay for added support (very useful on older cars)

Re: Breakdown cover
If I upgrade my bank account (£10/mo fee) I get RAC Roadside & At Home Assistance breakdown cover.
If I upgrade to the one that has a £14.50/mo fee I get
RAC Comprehensive breakdown cover (with Roadside, Recovery,
At home, Onward Travel & European cover) as one of the benefits
But i might check and see what discounts we get from the AA with work.

Re: Breakdown cover
Well I pay £9/month to AA and £7/month to Lloyds so I would say the £14.50/month to RAC seems like a good deal

it's £14.50/month to the bank but they throw in the RAC as one of the benefits
Also get extended warranty cover for electrical items bought with your debt/credit card, mobile phone insurance and worldwide travel cover apparently.
