Re: Worker runs up £27k mobile bill
They've only said "sympathetic arrangement", they haven't cancelled the bill.
To a big company this probably just means they'll "allow" him to pay it off at hundreds of pounds a month for decades. I would be surprised if they let him off the entire bill.
If he has no assets he'd be better off going bankrupt, then they won't get a penny.

Depends on how much disposable income he has.
I have to pay £332 a month while I can for 3 years, if I have more spare cash it will go up, if I have less it will come down.
Turned over £100K of debt (when you look at the total repayments not the amount borrowed) into £12K.

With 3G or edge you can get hundreds of Kbps.
On my old 3G phone I'd used to get over 300Kbps.

1. Always read the T's & C's
2. Mobile companies will never tell you what their FUP is (Enough Said!)
3. Don't use your/a mobile as a modem!

Re: Worker runs up £27k mobile bill
Heh I'd make the son pay the bill, shame it's in her name.
Most I've ever run up through Internet usage was £80, that was quite intensive usage mind you! Mobile phones as Modems are incredibly useful, especially if you are away from home and not near a Wifi connection, but they need to be used sparingly!

Re: Worker runs up £27k mobile bill
Yes, depending on the level. The basic is about 3gb, WnW Pro is around 5 I believe and Max gives you something like 12gb.

What happens if you go over the FUP?

Re: Worker runs up £27k mobile bill
It depends by how much. Initially you'd get charged for the extra data but then you'd get a letter informing you that you're breaking the T&Cs.
