The number was 020056
Rang my mobile. Any ideas?

Generally it's a company (normally don't give a name) which tries to 'offer' you phone upgrades... Some claim to be affiliated to your phone provider, I normally just ignore them or tell them I have just upgraded

Bit odd as I thought all London numbers need to be followed by a 7 or 8, not another 0.

Last week someone called me and my mobile was only showing a 6 digit number too. For some reason my mobile wasn't displaying the 1st 5 digits of the incoming number (it was a vodafone mobile). It was only the case with this number tho.

someone rang my house at 02:00 this morning!!!! it was a reverse charge call from an 0845 number, when we didnt accept it they rang again 10 mins later. As my mother-in-law is currently in hospital my wife thought it might be her and accepted it the second time. but there was no one there. i googled the number this morning and it seems it could be a scam - not sure how much we have been stung but be aware in case it is wide spread.
