Always tip the waiting staff generously if you use a cafe/resturant on a regular basis.

Re: Tip.
As I found out earlier this year (nearly to my peril), with my friend's (very large) German Shepherd dog. Don't stroke a shaggy dog's fur vigorously and then lightly touch it on it's nose.
The resulting static discharge, can be a wee bit upsetting for the animal - resulting in a negative response towards the stroker.
Lesson learned.

Take 2 Viagra tablets before you go to bed,
1. It stops you rolling out of bed.
2. It stops you P*****G on your feet in the morning.
I'll get my coat

and in any bar in America always tip very generously on the first round if you are not known. Better service and often buy backs (free rounds).

Tipping in the US is great fun. This year I needed a Christmas tip for my AuPair (2 weeks wages). I now live in a 'doorman' building, so they all get a tip (a not to bad ouch for the stuff they do), a box of 12 ferro rocher with an envelope with some money in it taped to the front, and you are supposed to tip your mailman (though not cash), so he got a $15 iTunes card and a box of chocolates.

Re: Tip.
A student baked me two "swedish" xmas cakes (she is swedish). Basically, they were slightly spicy fruit cakes.
I found it odd as a) i'd accidentally triggered a virus on her computer (deleting all her personal data in the process) and b), the swedish apparently don't have an xmas cake.
Tasted lovely though.
