rats under my car bonnet
Has anybody had this problem? Twice rats have bitten through my wiring when parked in my drive. I now put poison in a tube under the car and a trap on top of the engine, but I really want a devise to keep them away

Re: rats under my car bonnet
Rats hate peppermint oil.
1. Buy bottle of peppermint oil. [try to get the pure stuff]
2. Sprinkle it around the car, & on parts of the car you don't think will be harmed by it.
You'll have to re-do it every now & then, as it'll probably wear off.

That'll effect that cat too, you wanna make sure it doesn't take too much juice either or you'll be jumpstarting your car every morning :p

Re: rats under my car bonnet
The easiest way to get rid of rats is with some Rennie's, rats can't break wind or belch so when they eat the Rennie's a few hours later they die because they can't get rid of the wind in their bodies. We used to use this method when we had rats down the coal mines, they used to scurry around in the old coal workings and when the rock used to fall you could hear them scream like hell. Get some Rennie's and mix them in with some vegetables, (remember rats aren't keen on meat) and within a few days your problem will be gone.
We've got a plague of rats at work, they are coming from a little stream that runs along the side of our yard, they had the normal run of the mill poision but they get imune to it, I got a load of Rennie's mxed them up and touch wood we've seen nothing of them for the last 2 weeks, they were getting to cocky for their own good, you could sit an watch them running about the yard without a care in the world, the looked rather cute but with wild rats you have to be careful.
