to the forum.

Quiet a list
First off would be to get a new battery or a check and a battery, then look at the code for the cd player and fuses for all others. Could have been a short on a circuit that has caused the battery to drain and maybe the fuse has gone on a recharged battery.

If the beakdown company jump started the car that would have caused the fuse to blow, the radio fuse is a low voltage one I think.

No idea, said voltage so I assumed he meant voltage, as for low amps, IIRC it's normally about a 10 amp rating so not particularly low, and jump starting wouldn't / shouldn't cause it to blow, unless it was switched on and the fuse was on it's way out, as I said earlier IMHO.

When we did the course they told us to remove the radio fuse to prevent it blowing if we were going to jump start a vehicle.

Fair enough, never heard of it before though, and certainly never have done it before

According to the instructor the radio's were prone to blowing when you jump started a vehicle.

Re: fuses

In my 20 years of motoring I have never had nor heard of fuses blowing after a jumpstart, and I have had jumpstarts from both family and The AA

---------- Post added at 19:27 ---------- Previous post was at 19:26 ----------

the CD player may have a fuse on the back of the unit, (I had a MD player that did).

The internal light might have died, have a look.
