Remotes and Clutter

Just to get away from these virgin vs sky threads do you use all your remotes,v+,v box, video, dvd ect or have you just one universal ie harmony, one for all and others,im using a harmony.

Re: Remotes and Clutter

DVD player remote gets chucked on top of the DVD Player as it isn't used often.
I use the VM remote for both the V Box and the TV, so the TV remote gets stowed away until such time I need to change settings on it.

Re: Remotes and Clutter

i have tv remote --dvd remote--surround sound remote--and 3x vm remotes cos thats the one we use all the time and 3 of them means i can always find one[but it also means some great battles cos no one person has control of tv] i did have a universal remo but it kept de programing its self and was pretty much useless so i binned it ,as for the clutter theres a forbidden zone behind the tv ,its like an explosion in a spaghetti factory.

Re: Remotes and Clutter

I got a harmony but everyone else in the house prefers to use the original remotes

Apart from the dvd-recorder which has seemingly fallen down a black hole

1 remote for the tele (although we usually use the sky remote)
1 remote for the Sky
1 harmony remote (that can do them all but no one bothers )
1 remote for the surround sound.

1 missing remote for the dvd-recorder

Re: Remotes and Clutter

I have a harmony 525 and it's the business. It controls the TV, V+, surround sound and DVD perfectly

Re: Remotes and Clutter

1 for tv
1 for VCR that can also do the TV (mostly)
1 for V+
1 for DVD
1 for HiFi
1 for photo frame

A feature I miss from Samsung STB was the hold '*' to control the TV.

Re: Remotes and Clutter

1 Remote for the projector but that tends to live on the shelf next to the projector as it is only used for on/off.
1 Remote for sky+
1 Remote for dvd/surround sound. At some stage I need to look if it can be programmed to the sky remote as it is only used for volume unless watching a dvd.
