2007 Fireworks Thread
It's that time again and fireworks will be illuminating the skies.
Hopefully people will respect the laws and the times fireworks are allowed to be set off and everyone will have a good time.
So, I ask you all, what are you doing for Fireworks night ?
Anyone got anything planned ?
I have been doing fireworks for my family for a few years and this year have decied to add music too.
I am calling the display "The Light Years" and have mixed a blend of different sci-fi movie tracks to go with the fireworks, hopefully in time with the fireworks.
I'm hoping it goes well. We don't spend much on it all, but I try to make it fun for everyone.
PS: Please make sure all your pets are safe and away from the noise on bonfire/ fireworks night and keep people well away from your display.
I always reccomend people read the fireworks guidelines before the display as in the dark you can easily put a firework the wrong way round and get disasterous results or not see the minimum safety distances.
I reccomend using a potato for children to hold sparklers in and then show them a bucket of water to throw them in once they are over.
Whatever you do, be safe.

Re: 2007 Fireworks Thread
Since I'm off to the US in the early hours of Sunday (4th) we are having our annual family bonfire party on the Friday night.
As always it will be a BBQ, followed by a fireworks display (yes, all done by me). I also have a pile of old wood for the bonfire this year.

Re: 2007 Fireworks Thread
Just finished my display tonight and it actually went really well for my first music and light display.
I had been planning it for a while and got the fireworks all out and ready early and moved the speakers down in to the garden.
We had jacket potatoes, hotdogs, cake, etc and then my show that went with the music.
I had a count down as it began with lot's of sound effects and then the star wars theme tune kicked in, then some HarryPotter, Lord on the rings, etc.
We had a great night.

I'm of the opinion no animal should be let out this time of the year alone, i've seen some evil people do things to animals - make sure you bring them in before dark

Re: 2007 Fireworks Thread
I've got the camera and camcorder packed, off to the local council display in 10 minutes.
I don't expect to get much, fireworks aren't one of my photographic strong points.

Re: 2007 Fireworks Thread
Thanks for reminding me, I was going to leave without mine.
I like how you can get the most strangest of shapes, colours, and lighting with fireworks.
I'll post some photos when I get back.

Re: 2007 Fireworks Thread
Well, I went to Blackheath fireworks display in London. It was amazing. My particular favourite was the jets of fire that shot up in different patterns in time to the music.

Re: 2007 Fireworks Thread
We set some of ours off on Saturday and the remainder tonight. Excellent night for anyone going to an organised display tonight but a bit nippy to say the least.

Re: 2007 Fireworks Thread
Off we trotted to a 'do' on Saturday and here are a few pics I managed to take..
I didn't realise how tough it would be to get a half decent one.
