I have a horrible feeling that like the Probation service, they only hire new trainees once a year and you have missed the boat

You have to start as an ambulance technician and work at least a year in that job before applying to become a paramedic. Some trusts may advertise for trainee Ambulance technicians, in others you may have to become an ambulance care assistant before progressing.

As long as you have good grades and you are ok upstairs (ie in the head) then apply and take all the required training, which will be intense.

You know you, and do you think you are up to the challenge?

What is your experience in that type of work?

It's one of those jobs I'd love to do but probably couldn't handle the pressure. If you do decide to give it a go then I wish you well.
