20 Months in the making and its finally finished
In Jan 2006 the missus and myself decided to re-fit the kitchen. As were not of Lord Rothschild's family we had a tight'ish budget. All the units including doors were hand made by myself, the kitchen was designed by Helen, the only items we paid full price for were the worktops IKEA £63, Sink + fittings £85 from B&Q as were the floor tiles @ £6 sqr mtr & wall tiles from Wickes @ £7 sqr mtr.
The whole kitchen was re-wired with lots of additional sockets, re-plumbed the water & waste, we have a fitted filter & tap for drinking\cooking water (it tatse's disgusting round here) Under-unit lighting was scrounged and consists of 4x600mm 20w strip lights. We kept the washing machine and dishwasher as they were nearly new anyway and we brought a new cooker and tumble and the extractor hood was a pressie from my in-laws.
The kitchen has a max dimension of 2.3mtr (window end) x 3.4mtr.
As were well chuffed at the final result I thought I would share a few pics
If there are any questions comments I would love to see them (good or bad)

Looks great
Was it a nightmare grouting all those mosaic tiles?

OMG! I used to use scales like that in my first Saturday job...
I suddenly feel very, very old.
Nice kitchen BTW. I wish I could be that good at DIY, but I've got two right hands and as I'm left handed that's not very useful.

Nope they are 400 x 300 mosaic effect, so a little bit of cheating but have a great look, Helen found those in wickes, end of line I think thats why so cheap.

Mosaic grouting is a smear (with a soft grout spreader) and wipe down (with a sponge) job rather than the cleaner job you might do on larger tiles. Easier than you think.

The new kitchen looks great. I bet you both get a real kick out of seeing what you have achieved.
