World's Fastest Production Car
The SSC (Shelby Supercars) Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo has taken the world's fastest production car record by averaging 255.83 mph on a closed public road... 
Video here, love the sound of that engine 
They're not connected in any way to Carol Shelby of Shelby Cobra fame...

183 mph to go 3.11 mph faster than the Veyron.
I guess this might prompt Bugatti/VW to get theirs out on a proper speed run.

Nice car, reminds me of a cross between a Lambo and the Dodge from the film 'The Wraith'.
The Veyron still does it for me though.

Saw one in the flesh at Goodwood, it was in probably the priciest traffic jam you`ll ever see, there was a Zonda and a Koenigsegg (plus your Lambo`s and Ferrari`s) behind it
