Looking to get away for a few days.
Ok then you helpful lot I've got 8 days off work and after all the crap I've been through over the last few months I'm looking to get away for a few days, I'm not looking for anywhere that's going to cost a wedge load of money for 3 or 4 nights just somewhere nice and simple, don't forget I'm 41 and single so no knocking shops please, I know what you lot are like on here, (only kidding) If it weren't for you lot on here giving me the big ups over the last year I'd be in a nut house by now So then anyone got any decent ideas?
Cheers
Nidge

I'm not bothered really somewhere where I can get away for a few days, I've done London a few years ago so something a little bit nicer.

We used to go over to Amsterdam quite a lot. We took the North Sea Ferry from Hull to Rotterdam on a Friday evening at 9:00pm which got into Rotterdam at 8:00am Saturday. The overnight cruise was an experience in itself especially if winnings were good in the on-board casino. There was also the on-board bars, cabaret and cinemas. A short train journey to Amsterdam where we stayed for a couple of nights before returning to Hull. Food on the ferry was excellent. It's been quite a few years back since we last went over so prices will have changed a fair bit. We used to pay £49 each for the return journey if doing it on the cheap which included dinner and breakfast and an aircraft style seat in one of the lounges instead of a cabin.
We used to go to a Thai restaurant in Amsterdam and have the rice table. You chose what type of rice you wanted and they brought a plateful together with a tureen of extra rice on a plate warmer. They put several warmers in the centre of the table with around 40 different dishes of different foods. It was just about impossible to eat everything that was put in front of you as there was so much of it. It was great to be able to sample so many dishes.

Need to find a good rollercoaster - will sort you out Pleasure Beach at Blackpool and Alton Towers are the obvious choices.

Blackpool is looking good at the moment, I can get a decent room for £20 a night bed and brekfast. 3 nights = £60 i don't think I can get any better than that at the moment, thats for a hotel on the seafront too.
