So Depressed!
I'm so sick and tired of life.
Working my **** off all day for crap pay, coming home, paying bills, taxes and have no money at all to buy even the cheapest luxury.
Tired of not being able to live in a place id like, but having to live in a council estate house because i cant afford to rent -sigh-
Life sucks.

I'm not allowed to kick the kids out - think how I feel.....
Trax, it will get better - we all have a year or two when we seem to be "treading water", and not progressing; then things pick up, and you realise it was just a slump in the cycle of your life.
Chin up, buddy.

Life can be like that, but if you are tired of life, can I have one of your kidneys. I'd give anything for one, everything else is immaterial as far as I'm concerned.
I live in a flat (housing Assc), can't work, in constant pain etc etc etc but you can't let it get to you. Keep grinding and 'try' to be happy with you do have now. I hope that makes sense. Tomorrow is another day.
Keep your chin up.

I sympathise, I really do. I'm currently unemployed and life is a struggle. I've forgotten what it's like to have a night out and buying luxuries is a distant memory too. Family and friends offer to help me out, but I feel like a big enough loser without taking money from them. I'm constantly going for interviews and getting nowhere, despite being told by interviewers that I performed well.
I've now decided to go back to Uni (I'm an OU graduate) in order to improve my job prospects. I don't know anything about your situation and so don't want to be unrealistic, but could further/higher education be an option for you? I know it would mean further sacrifices and financial hardship, but it's a means to an end. Depending on what you study, it could open more doors for you career-wise (and salary-wise!). Even if full-time study isn't viable, you could study on a part-time/evening basis and keep working; as far as I know, some colleges and Universities offer fee waivers to people on lower incomes (not meaning to be cheeky here!) and certainly many offer fee payment plans.
Obviously, I could be way off and feel free to tell me if I am. I just hate to see (or read about) another human being in pain and always like to offer some sort of suggestion or advice. At the very least, please take comfort in the fact that things will eventually get better.

Unfortunately there are thousands of people who are in the same boat, but they have no option but to get on with it, everyone has to pay bills, taxes etc. If you take the world as a whole, there are millions who are far worse off than you. At least you have a job, roof over your head, your health and the liberty to do/go wherever you want. Sounds good to me! If you don't like it, do something about it, don't just sit back and wait for things to happen.

Re: So Depressed!
where Anton works, they think living on our council estate sounds exciting! they won't come visit us though, lol.
I still look for work, we just got married and I am presently happy, though that could change in minutes and I could be looking for a razorblade...
you're not the only depressed person in the world, things will get better, but you have to change your own situation if you are truly unhappy - noone can do it for you. like zingle said, think of all the people that are a lot worse off than you - that always puts things into perspective for me

HHHmmm I guess it's all relative. I hope things get better for you.
Me - well I can't get that depressed about it all any more as there are always people worse off than yourself.

Re: So Depressed!
When I get depressed I sit and think about everything that I have in life and that helps put it in to prospective.
If it is really bad a trip to the doctors maybe what is needed for you.
Keep strong I am sure in time you will look back and see things could have been far worse.

My car has just had a heart attack. It's needs a new Head Gasket .Cost is about £500 and not working at the moment means that I have to sell me gold. Stuff I have collected over the years. It's all I have left in life and now it has to go

Re: So Depressed!
When I get depressed I drink custard.
Have you ever heard of the healing power of custard?
If you want things to change, then you have to be proactive, think about what you want, and how you can get there? - lousy job? - think about the job you'd like to do, and what you'd have to do to get it - maybe you need to study or something, get a qualification - things just dont happen on their own.
Without wishing to sound harsh, things don't change just by wanting them to - there's a big difference between wish power and will power

Re: So Depressed!
Just over a year ago I was living with my dad (I'm 36) - yes I should have moved out ages ago I know! Now the GF and I have bought a house (shared ownership) and nice new development. The debts are coming down, good job etc...
Well it would be quite nice if it wasn't for the housing association rentals just a few doors away who have pimped-up cars, loads of kids in tow, always outside in the road arguing / shouting and they never seem to work.
So not only are we paying the mortgage on our house, we are also keeping them in tax benefits / hand outs from the council / government.
Think how I feel!!!
Swings and roundabouts mate!
At least you have food, shelter and no hurricanes to worry about...
