Ratty dreams…
I picked little Burt out of his bed earlier and he stayed asleep in my hand, obviously having a great dream…
 Awwww!

Re: Ratty dreams…
I have 10 at the moment, although two of them are foster rats waiting to be rehomed. I don't breed them, and purposely only keep males to avoid accidental litters.

So they are pets and not particularly a hobby?
Now don't take this the wrong way because I'm not being funny or nasty,I'm interested in why rats? Why not dogs, cats or rabbits. What attracted you to rats particularly?

Oh yes, definitely pets first and foremost. The fact that a couple of them do well at shows is an added bonus.

Because they really are amazing little animals, full of character. I first got interested years ago when a friend got a pet rat and I saw what funny, intelligent and playful animals they are. I've been keeping them on and off ever since. To get an idea of how different their personalities can be check out the bios on my webpage, or there are some good writeups at The Dapper Rat.
We do also have a dog and a cat, but no rabbits (they seem to have an intense dislike of my Dad and growl at him ).

Re: Ratty dreams…
Heh! It refers to the way rats will splay themselves out on the bars of the cage to get your attention, spreading themselves out as large as they can get. You end up with a limb in each direction with the tail hanging down, hence starfish.

Re: Ratty dreams…
Ah, I see. It's nice to know our fuzzy friends appreciate us, isn't it? I don't have a fuzzbutt of my own, but I went over to my mum's on Sunday, & her white bull terrier certainly seemed to want me to make up for the time I hadn't been there, as if nobody else ever makes a fuss of her [SO not true, she gets plenty of attention, but to her there's no such thing as too much ].
