Re: kfc

TBH, I don't like the fact that the KFC restaurant is always so thick with grease, even the air, opposed to Mcdonalds and BK. They tend to be dirtier as well. I think Mcdonalds is still the best for cleanliness.

Not any more - they were rated the dirtiest last year by watchdog - Cleanest this year!

Re: kfc

wwe, you're very into your job. I suggest you open up your own franchise, you've got the determination.

I've eaten KFC here in SA and in New Zealand. Preferred the NZ menu, though the taste was the same. Though, I remember KFC being better some 12 years ago, the coating crispier, the chicken fresher than it is today. Liked KFC much more back then, today I prefer Nando's.

On a side note, I remember reading a few years back that some students at a university in the US bought some KFC in order to do chemical analysis on the coating to uncover the blend of "11 secret herbs and spices" and finding only 3: salt, pepper and mono sodium glutamate (MSG). Can't find a link now but I'll post one if I do.

---------- Post added at 11:13 ---------- Previous post was at 10:51 ----------

Can't find the story about the US university students anywhere, but did find two related links.

According to answerbag there's also flour. Makes sense.

And there's a interesting thread on the origin of the recipe on the snopes.com forum:

Re: kfc

The best things from KFC were the BBQ spare ribs but they stopped doing them years ago (about 15+ I reckon).

Of all the fast food places, I'd say KFC do the best chips.

Re: kfc

Used to get KFC a lot in SA, as on the first page of this thread you coud get mash, and decent gravy with the chicken instead of cardboard fries...

Also the Zingers in SA actually blew you away, really hot and spicy instead of luke warm as they are here.
