It was only 72 pages for me, but then I have my options set to show 40 posts per page.

Like Pia (and I suspect most people), I have it set to the forum default of 15 per page.

I must say I'm surprised, I would have thought the only reason to want to use less than the maximum would be if people were on a slow/dial-up connection.

 Never bothered to change it.
Doesn't matter how many pages, it still has the same amount of posts in, and threads with lots of posts in cause high server loads when processing
