Re: The Happy Thought Thread - Part 2
Numpties who think they can con people into signing up for some site, whether it's just to harvest your email addy, or to earn them extra clicks on their advertising or whatever. If they want to con you into jumping through various hoops so you can get the password to something you've already downloaded [password protected zip or rar inside another unprotected zip or rar that includes a text file with instructions], you'd think they'd have the brains not to tell you how many characters it is & not make it all lower case.
For those who don't know anything about cryptography [I only really have a very minor interest myself], it's like putting your front door key under your doormat so that your neighbour can get in to feed the cat, and putting a note on the door telling them you've left the key somewhere really easy to find.
Hmm... would I rather go to a potentially malware-infested site, where I'd presumably have to drop my various internet defenses [Anti-Virus, domain blocker, proxy filter that strips out dodgy code before it gets to the browser, etc] just to be able to jump through their required hoops, or take a little extra time [anywhere from a few seconds to maybe half an hour or so, depending on the number of characters & whether it's a zip (can be done a lot quicker) or rar (much slower)] to decrypt it myself, with a fairly good degree of confidence that Kaspersky will pounce on any malware as soon as I extract the file. Difficult question... not!

I don't usually like rose, but I think I've had an echo falls before... I've got a headache already so I thought booze can't make me feel any worse, I'll just stick to the jd & cola though!

Re: The Happy Thought Thread - Part 2
We've been drinking a bit of this Welsh whisky...
and also some of this Japanese one...
Also just got in from a fantastic Pirate-themed restaurant in Montpellier, which had the greatest food I've had in ages, was brilliantly decorated and had fantastic staff. Great time had by all.... just a shame it's so far from home.

That AFAIK is the only welsh whiskey produced. I bought my dad a bottle to help with his malt colection. It is not cheap mind (£30). Tastes very good.
