We had the option of paying less each month or shortening the term. We originally took out the loan based on just my salary - as my missus was only working part time - whereas now she's working full time. Which means we can luckily afford to go from a 30-year mortgage (minus the 3 years already paid) to a 20-year one... hence the saving.
Wouldn't have been possible at all if the housing market had crashed, so let's hope prices continue to rise a bit longer

no thanks......
I cant afford a house as it is, if it keeps going up I will never ever be able to afford one.

me neither. but I think I'd rather rent, though if the councils keep selling off properties there's going to be none left soon.

Roast beef, roast potatoes, new potatoes, veggies, yorkshire puds and lashings of luscious mustard and beef gravy..followed by hot chocolate sponge with chocolate sauce.
Now shall I have 40 winks or do the ironing?

Re: The Happy Thought Thread - Part 2
Just come back from the "Destinations" exhibition at the NEC.
Lots of nice places I'd like to go to and found out some good holiday info.
Oh and also bumped into Levi Roots who was on "Dragon's Den" selling his Reggae Reggae Sauce.

Yes, he had his song playing on loop.
I felt for the other stands nearby having to listen to it all day.
He seems a nice guy though, funny too.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread - Part 2
My car broke down today!
Why is that good news? Because it was showing all the signs of Tesco petrol poisoning, and my mechanic was having difficulty in locating the part it would have needed. On inspection it turns out to be the coil!
(Mind you if it had been the other problem, Tesco had agreed to pay for a hire car as I have to have a car for my job - so it's not quite good news!)
