Installed win server 2008 on a p4 system to test it and could not get it to recognise the bloody network card :-(
Also I'd start early, it takes a good while.

My happy thought is that I have an interview for what sounds like a very interesting job, tomorrow, the only downside being that it is 50 miles away. However I did a 'mock' interview with the agency today & they thought I have a good chance...
- if I get the job I'll have to buy a car, so expect me to be posting in the fuel costs thread, if I do
|
You'll be fine I'm sure and will ace the interview.

well people I know have already installed it on the same model server, so hopefully (famous last words) it should go ok, but thanks for the heads up on the time.

Good luck Jefferson, I hope you have a great time. I must say though I don't envy you, I dreaded the dating scene when I was young, but now....OMG
I'm sure you will charm her though, still being young..ish I think I'm just jealous

Re: The Happy Thought Thread - Part 2
Thanks for your thoughts about the interview, peeps, it was for a job that I had experience of a few years ago, but not recently - one of the (middle aged) interviewers even commented that my qualification was even older than hers ..
Anyway, I gave it my best shot & should hear on Monday if I will be called back for a second interview.
It is the first one I've had since being made redundant, and as I was in my previous job for 14 years, even if nothing comes of it the practice will do me good for the next one and it shows my CV can't be that bad
- and Dilli, you just have to be yourself & it should be fine - have a nice time, whatever transpires

There is a risqué answer to that, which I'll refrain from out of respect for you & deep fear of what your fella might do
- and thankyou, there were a few butterflies, but overall I'm just glad anyone is willing to consider me, keeping fingers crossed until Monday

There is a risqué answer to that, too
Sometimes seeming clever just means being able to remember stuff, but actually using that knowledge can be a different matter - there is no substitute for 'common sense' ...
Thanks for your support though, Dilli, I really appreciate it

Re: The Happy Thought Thread - Part 2
homealone. I really hope you get the chance for a second interview at least you only have a couple of days to wait. I can't believe that they haven't recognised quality when it's sat right in front of them.
