Whenever I feel like this I go on a bender with either a series of books or a series of TV programs. In the past I have read the entire Memory, Sorrow & Thorn Series in a matter of a couple of days, Read the entire series of Discworld novels in a stupidly quick time, watched every epsiode of Red Dwarf back to back and have done the same to other series.
Today I've just finished watching the entire backlog of Family Guy episodes and the movie. Thats 37 hours of family guy in just over two days back to back. Stopping to sleep twice.
My conclusions. I know its comedy but, I'm Brian, I'm a batchelor, intelligent, drink to much, dont have much luck in matters of love and never finish what I set out to achieve.
I also worryingly have found that I want to protect Meg. Thats just wierd, shes a bleeding cartoon for gods sake.
Now comes the point where I have to get back to reality, but first I have to weigh up and think about what I have discovered about myself. Its always odd to find what comes from escaping from reality for a couple of days, even as the hovering ghost in someone else's imagination.
Going on a Bender to this degree is just wrong but is strangely also so right, Bittersweet if you like!!!
I'm sure you all thing I am wierd, well I am

Poor old Brian! I can certainly relate to a dozen tins of Stella and the entire Red Dwarf collection, I've been there, turned out to be a bloody good weekend. Another favourite is to watch the entire lot of Blake's 7, this is best for miserable winter weather over the course of a week, as its over 50+ hours. Oh dear, sounds like we are both a pair of miserable sods , but I'm happy.

I wondered where you had been - hope it cheered you up
My happy thought is that I have an interview for what sounds like a very interesting job, tomorrow, the only downside being that it is 50 miles away. However I did a 'mock' interview with the agency today & they thought I have a good chance...
- if I get the job I'll have to buy a car, so expect me to be posting in the fuel costs thread, if I do

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Gaz.
My happy thought, bought a radio/clock/alarm, complete with adaptor at local table top sale for 20p. Works perfectly!

He is my boss... ice breakers are wonderful things for finding out random info.
Good luck Gaz, let us know how it goes.
My happy thought... we had booked to go to Florida this September before we found out that I am expecting. We decided that the baby will be too young and that we would have to cancel so phoned the travel agents. They are going to let us re-schedule the holiday to next year, change the hotel we want to stay in etc.
Only have to pay £20 in admin fees instead of loosing about £200 of a deposit. Gives us something else to look forward too even though it is a long time off... we are self confessed Florida addicts.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread - Part 2
I've just booked some leave for the end of August so I can spend some time with my better half. She does not live local so we dont get to see each other that often.
Now I just have to get things organised and hope she can get it booked off as well.

I don't know... not sure it would be too bad to spend all day in a room that's not too big and not too small - people could bring me meals, and I could surf the web all day.
