Re: The Happy Thought Thread - Part 2
I did go quite drawn looking in the face. People had noticed but didnt tell me. I noticed in the end about the end of September and cut back on the diet and training a fair bit. Im still doing the training only not as ferociously as I was and im eating a load more now but my weight appears stable. I want to get down to about 11.5 stone in the end but there is no rush for that

A couple of woodpeckers have been visiting the garden over the past few days having a good go at the peanut feeders. Although there are loads of them in the woods immediately around where I live they're never normally frequent visitors to the back garden. Always nice to see some new faces/beaks

We had a squirrel in the garden the other day, fascinating to watch, probably wondering where to climb, since we got rid of the trees. Didn't stop long.

There's one that visits my garden daily which has been using the various planters around the edge of the patio as a store for it's winter goodies. I usually drop a few peanuts and seeds on the floor when filling the bird feeders and the little fella usually comes in and mops up the lot, stashing a bit in each pot

Fascinating Pete, and lovely though they are, I would be very wary. I have heard that they can be very destructive. One got under the eaves of my friend's house and chewed through wires.

Be careful not to eat too many carrots on this diet of yours Zing, if you turn orange people might start mistaking you for an Oompah Loompah.
My happy thought: sharing several hours of intellectual conversation & a very nice pizza with a good friend.

It did, but they didn't get along, so there was never a second date.

Yes indeed, there is one which is adept at lifting a half full peanut feeder up by it's front claws and somehow manages to twist and dismantle it scattering the contents over the garden floor. A wee bit of a pain but comical to watch and certainly not as inconvenient as having your wires chewed through
I think I posted a few piccies of it before but here it is again in action:
