Best place to stay in Leeds
Got a course in Leeds on the 15th and 16th of this month at Remarc not too far from the train station. I dont intend to travel home then back and wish to stay for 1 night, does anyone recomend any cheapish places? I am looking to try and find somewhere with internet facilities cheapish as well.
Let me know. Cheers.

Re: Best place to stay in Leeds
If you don't mind jumping in a cab there are loads of great places along the Otley Road about 5km out.
Stayed in a fantastic country club there a couple of years ago for a week; can't remember it's name though, which I don't suppose is much help
Don't think it was cheapish anyway
The Village Hotel there is cheapish, has a nice pool & gym, fairly good restaurant, rubbish bar, and is EXACTLY like every single other Village Hotel on the planet.
Don't know about the city centre - all the usual suspects will be there of course - there must be a Holiday Inn Express I'd have thought.

Matthew - what's your budget? Travel Inn's are ok...I was at Yeadon Stoops a few weeks ago - out by the Leeds / Bradford airport...
TI's have Wi-Fi in your room but you need a laptop - TI can usualy provide a Wi-Fi adapter.
Can you claim a night on expenses?

Re: Best place to stay in Leeds
Matthew, what's your budget for the room (I live in Leeds, and know a lot of the hotels).
A good place to get reasonable rates is Laterooms.com.

Re: Best place to stay in Leeds
Theres a quite new Novotel in Leeds which is about a 2 minute walk from the train station. I stayed there for a weekend last year and it was very good. We didnt take the breakfast option but the Weatherspoons pub in the station does a reasonable cooked breakfast for £1.99 plus i think about 65p for coffee

A Travelodge that isn't bad? Must be a ringer - a proper Travelodge would drain the will to live out of you the moment you stepped through the door
No matter how bad things get in your life, a night in a Travelodge can only make things more depressing

Re: Best place to stay in Leeds
It's only for one night do dont want to spend a fortune £70 most. I have been recommended Novatell.
Does anyone know how much the internet is at the TI?

Think a TI room is £59.
Can't remember how much wireless is - but here's a tip for you...don't pay for it online! Go to the TI Reception and purchase a voucher card - you get more for your money!

Well it's charged by the hour and you can buy as many as you like.
Never had any VPN issues at a TI. The wi-fi is (I think they still provide it) provided by Swisscomm Eurospot.
