Makeup suggestions
I need some tips on makeup. Links to suitable products would be great. I want to look a bit of a tart. How do you get those glossy lips? Looks like varnish I was thinking lippy, mascara and eye shadow would be sufficient. I'm a bit worried about poking my eye with the mascara - is it hard to apply?
TIA

Re: Makeup suggestions
No of course it's not hard to apply - otherwise all us girlies wouldn't do it!
I have to ask - why the interest?
For tarty, dark colours are best - or bright red for lips but be careful how you apply it or you'll look like a kiddie that went mad with the red smarties. Lots of black mascara and eyeliner too - but you will need a steady hand for that. And don't forget foundation and blusher too. Glossy lips - either vaseline applied over lipstick or a lip gloss (the paint on ones are the shiniest).
Links? Hmm, I'd go along to Boots, Tesco, Superdrug - pretty much everywhere sells make up nowadays, the Tesco range is by Barbara Daly, make up artist to the late Princess Diana iirc, and is pretty good.
And don't forget to buy some make up remover too - the dark lipstick can stain, and can look awful the next morning!
P.S. - And if you have sensitive/allergy prone skin, you will have to select a range designed for that.
It's not easy being a woman!

Re: Makeup suggestions
Well it's not difficult! Some women have been doing it for years! First apply a generous layer of dark lipstick, then some lip gloss ( or just lick your lips at the chosen moment). Dark eyebrow pencil and eyeliner applied liberally, bright blue eyeshadow, blusher and scarlet lippy ( applied badly) should do the trick! As an afterthought, some fishnet tights with holes, would help in the overall impression you want to give! Mascara is not hard to apply, but if done badly would aid in your ultimate result!

Yes, but he'll need some tinted moisturiser (at least) too, to even out the skin tone - especially if he's got a dark beard!
Shame you don't live nearer, gc!
PS How about false eyelashes?
Actually, just found this: http://www.101lifestyle.com/beauty/makeup/makeup.html - seems pretty thorough, it will give you something to read tonight, anyway!

Oh YES!!! I used to work with a gay bloke, his make up repetoire was terrible to say the least - like a pantomime dame! So some friends and I soon pointed him in the right direction, and he looked quite respectable. Couldn't do much for his dress sense though.....

Re: Makeup suggestions
Sounds an awful lot more complicated that I first imagined. Starting to understand why women take so long to get ready That eyeliner looks lethal - one slip and you've a pencil in your eye
It's the new boyfriend - he's very experimental.
Just joking - I'm going to see Rocky Horror in March and am starting to prepare early. I spotted some lovely leopard print heels and short denim skirt. Just need tights - a little tricky to locate. I was going to wear a badly buttoned shirt, no cuff links, to complete the look. Oh and gel my hair up.

Re: Makeup suggestions
Tights are EASY - what are you after? Black lacy/fishnet I would assume - now all the supermarkets have those!
The more effort you put in, the better the end result - and it doesn't take that long, my make up is 5 mins in the morning (the hair takes a bit longer! )
Can we have some pics on here to view the finished result? Please - you will be in full make up so it's not like we would recognise you or anything?
PS - you can get liquid eyeliner, not anywhere near as painful if it goes in your eye, and I think it gives a better result as well (not that I use it lol!)

Re: Makeup suggestions
No way am I posting pics I think I'll do the lips and the eyes. Might be pushing my luck with foundation and so on - may end up looking like I bumped into Stay Puft. I think it'll need a trial run - to get the hang of it.
I was after red fishnets - very much the tart. Will have a look in Tescos.

Re: Makeup suggestions
Get a girl friend to help - it's the easiest way (having been to a few Rocky Horror shows, you can always tell the guys who have done it themselves, and who got girls to put the make-up on for them).

Re: Makeup suggestions
That's very kind of you Mr T, but I wouldn't want to have a negative impact on your, er, home life. Besides - I'm only liable to hit my nuts with it
I'm sadly lacking a local female that can help. I know a girl down South who would be perfect at this sort of thing - shame she no longer is local

Re: Makeup suggestions
No - black fishnets look more tarty! Although if that's the style you are after, suspenders and a short skirt should do the trick!
Foundation will be ok if you get the right and will give you a better 'look' - the fashion round here at the moment (Essex ) is to look as if you have been Tangoe'd. Too pale and you will look like Dracula. You could always ask at the make up counter? Boots staff are particularly good, very helpful - and if you are shy just tell them where you are going and what you are doing - although I doubt whether they will bat an eyelid (my daughter used to work in our local branch).
Good suggestion from foreverwar - no females about that you could ask? Or your Mum?
