Yuk? You don't drink tap water then? (Or Evian for that matter...)

All water is recycled, this planet is a closed system after all. You're not getting fresh rainfall from outer space.

hmm, and what is the major ingredient in Lemonade (at least the fizzy sort of stuff)? And on the other hand what gets used to irrigate and fertilze the trees that grow the fruit

I'm not even going to go there!!!!!!!! I'll just live in blissful ignorance (as usual). Why change the habit of a lifetime?

There was an article in 'New Scientist', recently, questioning why we still use drinking water to flush our loos and also suggesting that we collect urine, rather than flushing it away. This would save water & energy & the 'product' could be used, directly, or indirectly by extracting the phosphate, as fertiliser.
Of course you could just pee directly on the flower beds

we have a clematis in a large tub outside the back door & only one loo which is also the bathroom - if the bathroom is occupied, there is sometimes no choice (not recommended to apply 'neat' btw, about 1 in 10 dilution )
More seriously, according to the article I mentioned, in waste water, urine contributes about 1% total volume, but 80% of the nitrogen & 45% of the phosphate present - but because it has been diluted during the flush & mixed with other sources of waste water, like run off from rain, it is takes much more energy to process, than if it were not 'watered down'. Some estimates have suggested a sewage treatment plant could become a net producer of energy, rather than a net user, if we didn't pee down the sewers - that might get the water rates down
