Well IMO, it's the wacky world in which we live, thank the like of Jackass and Dirty Sanches for kids copying these things, but yeah, the parent/s of this kid want slapping with an endangerment to life type thingy ( had a drink )

Just to point out - if the kid had stayed on the board at the time the rocket went off (how long was that fuse??), it would probably only of pushed them up to about 20MPH. Still, its a totally stupid thing to do.

Its a rocket motor. More of a predicable burn than a firework, but still impossable to put out should anything get in its way and catch fire (like a pair of trousers, or a coat...). Give enough of them (40 or so), you can propel your luge up to 100MPH or more.
