Emergency tax help
Just one more question from me today.
Promise
I been at my company now which is Blockbusters since 29th November 2006 and get paid fortnightly.
I am still paying emergency tax. I rang up the tax office and they still have me on record as working for my last employer which ended in August 06. The tax office say I need a PAYE code and I have asked my boss a number of times for it but never got it.
Your last employer should have given you a P45 to pass to your new employer.
If this isn't available your new employer should have you complete a P46 form where you can state that it is your only job and the tax office can sort it.

You need to chase up the pay office of the company then.
Also you need your P45 from your last employers as you will almost certainly be due a tax rebate ( if you paid some ) due to not working for 3 months.
And if you get that to your current employer and they process it correctly then you will get the tax back automatically through their payroll, no need to claim from HMCE
