Weather - how you coping?
Pretty gusty and rainy up here int North. I was up til 3 last night due to the rain driving against the window and the wind howling in the fire flu. This morning, I intended strolling into town, but it was a struggle to remain standing, bent against a strong wind and heavy rain. I got the bus. Lot of wheelie bins lying about like something out of Dr Who. We briefly lost power at work, plunging us into darkness. I reflected on the disaster recovery plan being tricky to find in such situations

Re: Weather - how you coping?
It's been really windy here, & wet. Horrible.
Didn't sleep much last night, 'cos of the wind & rain.
I had a wind powered speed walk to work this morning, & was walking against it tonight.

Re: Weather - how you coping?
30 metre tree blew down in the grounds of the flats here...
Demolished half the outbuilding where the wheelie bins live, trashed a guy's Transit & the top branches ended up in the main archway into the courtyard...
Scary!!

Re: Weather - how you coping?
Wind walking is great - it sort of carries you
Not the best of ways to shuffle off... "Man killed by big tree whilst putting out rubbish" Bit of a waste, no pun intended.
We lost a giant roll of bubble wrap - was blowing round the car park I was coming back from lunch with a colleague in her car, and it sort of stuck to the side of the car. She opened the door to move it and her bag of crisps blew off I managed to grab the wrap and wedged it between two cars.

Re: Weather - how you coping?
Isn't too bad here. Was woken up a few times by the sound of rain lashing on the windows, and there were bins all over the street (it's bin day on thursday) but that happens anyway, especially when they're light and i live on a hill anyway.
Hardly call it extreme weather, well not here anyway.

Re: Weather - how you coping?
My sheds all round the garden, 3 pairs of jeans got lost to the dog next door her in doors (Wife) lost her knickers "LOL".
I see that this summer from met office is going to be the hottest so far, so look after the those that need help in your community and keep tabs on them to make sure.
Be safe.

Re: Weather - how you coping?
The wind here the past 24 hours was quite scary, luckily no damage done that I can see. Did notice this morning that a neighbour has roses growing in his garden.....in January? The spring bulbs are starting to peep through also.

Re: Weather - how you coping?
Nothing horrendous here, just a constant blast of wind, it's knocked over a few wheelie bins, nothing drastic though.

Re: Weather - how you coping?
Just wind and rain here.
The cool breeze is nice on your head though when you got a hangover .
I love the cold though. I hate heat.

Re: Weather - how you coping?
Lost a 2 x 1.5 metre section of fence last night - luckily it didn't hit anything as it bounced across the garden.

Re: Weather - how you coping?
Windy and rainy here in the East Midlands, but it has got a little less windy today.
Lot's of water in the rivers.
Temperatures not as cold as yesterday. It's supposed to get better in the next few days.
