Re: World War 2 DCM Medal
It's worth more if you have the original citation and paper work to go with it

Re: World War 2 DCM Medal
Might be worth contacting Spinks, they deal in coins and medals. Best to get a few valuations and get advice on putting into a specialist auction.

Re: World War 2 DCM Medal
If you do sell it then please use the money to buy something more 'concrete' than a new PC that will be obsolete and binned in 3 years

Re: World War 2 DCM Medal
The DCM is a gallantry medal, & pretty high ranking too. It should show the recipients name, You can contact the MoD who will put you in touch with either the regiment who holds the colours (Where other medal winners from the same regiment will be represented). They are always interested in their history. There will be collectors of this medal. This gong was often awarded where the winner survived the skirmish, the VC, often going to those who died.
If I held one, from a past relative, I would never sell it, I would loan it to the regiment.

Re: World War 2 DCM Medal
What SMG said - if it's a family heirloom, you are preserving the memory of the winner and the unit in which he/she served.
