Moving home
I'm hoping to move home at the beginning of February - I've given notice on this place, and my new house just needs windows I was going to hire a van but my mate (the driver) now looks to be going on holiday - small room, en suite, set meals... So - how much does it cost, roughly, to move house? Any advice? Any recommendations for companys in Leeds/West Yorkshire?

Too much stuff, Zing. Planning on binning a lot of it. "Mates"? I have just one. I'm not good at making friends. It's complex

Hmmm. Drive off into the sunset with the electrical goods No doubt some are alright - but it's finding them.

Re: Moving home
Pickfords quoted me £800-900 for moving about 1/2 a mile If the removal men were naked, I might consider it.
My mate has postponed his "holiday", so the plan is to move a week earlier and pay rent on two places, which I can do. Does make things a bit easier too. Big relief. I get chest pain when I'm stressed

Re: Moving home
bimmin heck! no wonder white van man is so popular! i might have to hire a man with van soon- I keep seeing so much temptation on ebay... really need a new sofabed or just a sofa; we knackered ours - though it was only £10 on ebay and delivered for free can't complain. I've been lucky when we moved stuff recently the guy who drives Anton to work helped out with his landrover, and the taxi firm we most often use was most accommodating also! bless em.

Tardis removals, based in Leeds 16 - don't know what they are like, but they have been about for around 10 years, so must be doing something right.
