I used to love driving!

As the title says, I used to really love driving, but after spending 1 to 1.5 hours a day with idiots I'm getting to hate it.

Here are some of the ting that have happened to me while driving to work in a couple of months. Some happen every day.

1. People driving while using their mobile phone, I had somebody sitting on my bumper on the motorway doing 70+mph. By a hands free kit D**k Head.
2. I was driving in the middle lane when a car driving in the left hand lane simultaneously indicated and pulled in front of me, causing me to brake sharply, what was annoying is that there was nothing behind me if only they has waited a few more seconds.
3. Drivers who on a virtually empty motorway insist on driving at 40-60mph in the middle or right hand lane.
4. People who drive down country roads 30mph slower than the speed limit, and break on every corner, dip or rise in the road, or person walking on the pavement.
5. Drivers on a roundabout who indicate right and turn left off the roundabout (These are normally BMW or Mercedes drivers).
6. While driving on the motorway (70ish) I had a driver that was so close to my bumper that I could change the station on his car radio.
7. Lorries and buses travelling at over 60mph, in one case a bus was travelling at over 75mph. This is even worse in poor visibility conditions.
8. Drivers that pull out into fast moving traffic, and then drive slowly.
9. Cyclist who ride in the dark with no lights and wearing black.
10. Cyclists who only have those flashing LED lights, which is illegal, that should be used with a proper non lashing light.
11. Pedestrians who walk in the road wearing black, making it impossible to see them.
12. I was waiting to go onto a roundabout to take the second exit (straight on) on my right was a BMW, as I was about to leave the roundabout the same BMW cut in front of me. I then got from the driver a hand signal that's not in the Highway Code.
13. I was in nose to tail traffic. I approached a roundabout wanted to go straight on which was clear. A car came around the roundabout and stopped in front of me because his exit was blocked with nose to tail traffic, if he had waited he could have let me and the cars behind be go, but no because one of us might have got in front of him.
14. Idiots who drive around car parks like they are race tracks.
15. Idiots who manoeuvre their cars in a car park with out looking.
16. People who walk around car parks without looking.
17. People (on foot in car parks) who stop in you're blind spot while you are reversing out of the parking space.
18. People, who smoke while driving, this includes trying to light fags while driving or manoeuvring. This in my opinion should be made illegal, like mobile phones.
19. While I was driving on the motorway in heavy rain/spray, in the middle lane doing about 50mph. In front of me was a lorry which was overtaking another lorry, I indicated right I checked my mirrors to see if it was safe, all I could see was spray. Just as I was going to pull out I checked my mirrors again I saw a Merc driving without any lights fly past me.
20. I was driving down a straight road, there where cars parked the length of the road on the opposite side of the road. When I was a quarter of the way down the road a car came towards me in my side of the road rather than the centre, like most drivers do. (Which is wide enough to allow 2 cars to pass), causing me to take evasive action. (I.e. drive on to the pavement, which luckily was clear of people). At the look I got from the other drive.
21. Driving on the M25 to the M1 northbound in fog drivers had no lights on whatsoever!!
22. At roadwork's (blocking one side of the 2 lane road) they had some temporary traffic lights, every day I go past these, and you all ways see drivers stopping in front of a junction. This means any driver that wants to turn right cannot, this then means the road becomes blocked.
23. People who are in front of me that take ages to pull away from green traffic lights, (OK I'm not expecting them to pull away leaving rubber), but put your car in gear and fine the biting point of the clutch when the lights go red & amber.)
24. The worst offenders of all are those who drive with kids on their laps and the kids either share the seat belt with the adult, or they're not using a seat belt.

Re: I used to love driving!

I don't suppose you have ever been behind someone with their foot on the brake, instead of using the handbrake? that is annoying and driving straight across a roundabout with no indication, we are suposed to use telepathy to guess their intentions

Re: I used to love driving!

It's the pull out in front of you(even though there is no traffic behind you) to go a hundred yards up the road to take the next turn off that really, really irritates me.

Shouldn't the driver from the right have priority on a roundabout?

The BMW driver should have only been in the right hand lane if the exit was also two lanes, and if that was the case he wouldnt have needed to cut infront at the exit.

I dont get how using the footbrake is any more annoying than using the handbrake? In my experience its only those with the very chavesque lexus lights and large 4x4 drivers that even come close to dazzling the driver behind. Infact the driver infront using the foot instead of handbrake does have its uses, you know if they have died or have infact just not noticed the lights turn green when waiting behind them at a set of traffic lights

---------- Post added at 01:33 ---------- Previous post was at 01:28 ----------

And a few things that annoy me are....
Drivers who think its acceptable to bully other road users.

People on the motorway who will drive at some rediculous speeds to just to get infront of you and then slow right down. I had one the other day who kept getting infront of me, slowing down, then a few minutes later I would overtake him, he would realise promptly overtake me again and then slow right back down. (This happened about 3 times, I actually found this more amusing rather than annoying).

Drivers who change lanes at speed very closeley to other vehicles without even indicating or looking most of the time.

The same drivers above who instead of merging in behind the vehicle they are level with will instead race forward and force their way in forcing the other vehicle to take evasive action (Happened to me three days on the run last week ).

It is indeed illegal to ride with flashing lights; in fact, it says so on the packaging when you buy them, so it baffles me as to why the manufacturers make the lights like that at all. In fact, such lights do have a non-flashing mode; they have to, or they don't meet the British Standards. I have front and rear lights, and I would much rather have a simple on-off operation, i.e. press the button once - light on; press it again - light off. Instead, with the rear light especially, you have:

Press once - flashing. Again - steady. Again - strobe. Again - random pattern. Again - off, finally. I HATE that! I frequently toy with the idea of partly disassembling the bloody thing and somehow cutting out some of these stages, to replace the five-gang switch with a simple on-off switch. It makes as much sense as cycle helmets not being compulsory, i.e. none whatsoever.

Not neccessarly as the road markings or sign post tell you otherwise (hate it when people don't read signposts or road markings to tell you which lane you should be in)

There is a roundabout in my area (2 lanes) left lane to go left and straight and right to go right.

Another my favourite;
(3 lanes) left lane to go left and staright and middle to go straight and right and finally right lane to go right.

When I'm in the middle lane to go right and drivers in the right lane come onto my lane once they've gone round (gone right) on the roundabout. They beep me
