Re: Car stereo

Just ask your local kia dealer how should have a adaptor available. Why not just go to them and get the replacement jvc cd player anyways?

Agree, zrbyte, but I can't help but wonder if the part we need exists. May be easier just to do a DIY job on it. The place was closed today. We asked at Motorsave - full of young kids who know very little. I wouldn't trust them with Lego, let alone a car. It was suggested that the stereo was at fault
It is common that these two wires are back to front as there is no agreed upon standard for which way round they should be. So Cutting them both and connecting them the other way round with bullet connectors will probably be the best way to go.
I would imagin that is what the car audio place would do anyway, that or solder them back together.

Have you ever bought "official" parts? I think Ford wanted £150 for a set of car mats, when my mate had a Ford. You can get a set in Sainsbury's for a fiver. Methinks the Kia converter will be circa £50, compared to the £10 from a car audio place.

The stereo he's bought (half price from Halfords - last one) is quite snazzzzy - can connect an MP3 to it and stick in one of those cards like an After Eight mint. It's louder than the speakers can comfortably handle, which is nice.
