Do you have one?
What do you think of it?

Re: Skoda Octavia
Seemed to get a good rating on Top Gear from what I can remember. Altho its worth bearing in mind they were probably using the all singing-all dancing top of the range model

Re: Skoda Octavia
I don't own one, but have seen many around. They are pretty similar to the VW Passat/Bora which are also very nice.
My dad had a Fabia which I drove a few times... a 1.4TDi which was nothing short of breath-taking - it was so nippy it was untrue.
Put it this way, if the Octavia is anywhere near as good to drive as the Fabia was for me, I'd buy one. Are you planning on getting one?

Perhaps that was because of the bucket seats?

Yeah - they do look similar!
Looking to change the car in the next few months - been recommended one by some friends and it has some good reviews and won awards so it's on the list to checkout.

Re: Skoda Octavia
Had an estate as a hire car in Majorca. Very nice car and the diesel was very efficient.

Re: Skoda Octavia
ive driven the VRS one for a few hours, it handled very well and the engine was good, i did think the interior looked a little cheap and the outside looks like it just crashed into the "boy-racer" section at halfords

Re: Skoda Octavia
Mum and dad have a tdi elegance jobby, 2 yrs old now and a quality car all round, massive boot space and loads of room for 5 adults. He is 6'1 and mum is 5' awwwwww bless and neither of them have trouble finding a driving position too suit although dad had sucked his knees better a few times before he realised mum had been in it lol. "que the smutt"
The only thing that I don't like is that the hazard warning light switch is right in the middle of the dash and is always lit up, but then imma odd like that.
But yeah after flicking theirs around a bit I would really consider getting one as opposed to the Mondeo as my next car, it's the pollen filter and quickclear screen that keeps me to the Ford badge atm.

Re: Skoda Octavia
My mate has got one he really likes his, there seems to be more than ample legroom, well from the passengers side at least.

Re: Skoda Octavia
I have a Skoda Felicia Bohemia estate... very solid vehicle with no problems at all in 11 years... I hope to upgrade to an Octavia estate when this one dies... but that could be years off yet..... only 14k on the clock so it's run-in now I suppose ......
But what are Skoda thinking of with the Roomster?

YOu must have the wrong car, the Octavia has more room than any car on the market, I drove one for a month when my car was being repaired after an accident, I didn't want to give it back it was that good. I'm 6ft 4ins and when I was sat in the drivers seat the passengers behind me had loads of leg room.

The TDI VRS version is brilliant. The police have started using them, they must be something about them if the police are using them for persuit cars. Skoda have some on leaps and bounds since VW took them over a few years ago. If I were looking for a new motor I'd be looking at the Octavia TDI VRS Just remember it's a Volkswagaon with a different badge on it.
