Just a Question
The other day my great Uncle told me that a watch should be worn on the other hand to what handedness you are (?) eg. right handed people have a watch on thier left hand and vice versa.
I was just wondering if there was any truth in this or is it just a crazy fake fact?

Re: Just a Question
Well, that's what I do.
I'm a lefty, & I've always worn my watch on my right hand. Means I can use my dominant hand to set the time, press buttons, whatever.

Re: Just a Question
What ever is most comfortable - I used to always wear watches on my right wrist (I am right-handed) with the face inwards; now I wear them on my left wrist, face outwards.

Re: Just a Question
Well it sounds like a crazy fact, he was reasonably drunk when he said it anyway!
but its cool finding out what wrist people wear their watches on though.
oh and im right handed and wear on my left wrist. I have to wear the face outwards otherwise i wouldnt be able to get it out of my stupid coat....

Re: Just a Question
I had one of those timex blue and red face ones when I was little, and was told as I was left handed I should wear it so. I don't often wear a watch though, I've got small wrists and a watch feels too big and cumbersome!

Re: Just a Question
I don't wear a watch that often, I get annoyed in the end and take it off.

That's right. If you wear the watch on the hand you use most, then there is more chance it will be damaged. So its common sense really, put the watch on the weaker/less used hand. Also means you have to take it off less.

I used to know someone like that; something to do with personal magnetic/electric field. Only way round it is to buy a reasonably expensive non-quartz watch (better shielding).

Re: Just a Question
i don't wear a watch but if i ever wear bangles or anything they go on my right arm, and i'm left handed.
It kinda feels like i'm even then, sounds silly but my left arm is the stronger, most flexible one, so to put something on the right makes it feel more even...
