Standing order time
If I sent a standing order to my landlord on Friday 22nd of December when should it arrive in his account?
Bearing in mind the Christmas and new year week.
Cheers

Re: Standing order time
Did you send it electronically or by post? If it was posted he'll not get it till next Wednesday/Thursday, then he's going to have to pass it on to his bank. Could be well into the new year before it becomes active.

A standing order is a direct transfer from one account to another, so no post would be involved.

Re: Standing order time
He should've got it Saturday. I sent my brother some cash through to his account yesterday for my niece and nephews Christmas presents, and he got it instantly
You could always check via internet banking

True. But DW was asking how it was set up: via the internet or via mail.

Instant transfers probably happen, if you are both with the same bank. Barclays takes up to 5 days (usually 3)to transfer to other banks (yes, via Internet banking oder)

Re: Standing order time
Be, it just depands if the landlord is at the same bank as yours. if he is then it should take 3 working days max, otherwise up to 7.

Re: Standing order time
3 working days. You'll have to look up which days are bank holidays this year - I've lost all track.
