When is a sale not a sale?

Have had my eye one this one, on special offer at Argos ( cat no 670/2388) reduced to £39.99 http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...o.x=13&go.y=12, but have been holding off to see if it will be further reduced, in tomorrow's 'special' end of catalogue sale, starts online Christmas day. However new bargain sale price........whoopee a further........... increase... what? of £10.00, I don't think so!!!!

Appreciate your reply Zing, I have a perfectly good photo printer, Lexmark z816 but the replacement ink cartridges are astronomical, I have sussed out that I may as well have a new printer for the price of the 2 inks, stupid isn't it?

Re: When is a sale not a sale?

no I agree. If you look at the argos page you see the hp ink isnt cheap.I pay the same for 2 sets of my 5 colour an 1 black inks as argos charges for one 3 colour single cartridge

My Epson r300 does me proud with the cheaper inks

I've recently done a similar thing & got a new printer (not an all in one, though), as it was just as cheap as buying two new ink carts, for my old one.

I've only ever used HP printers, I agree they are very expensive to buy the ink carts, but I do find they last, although don't know how that compares with other makes.

Another thing to bear in mind, though, is that HP 'photo' printers usually come with a tri-colour & a photo ink cart, for true black you have to get the optional black cartridge....

Re: When is a sale not a sale?

the only problem with an Epson is that they are lazy..the minute you have a large pile of printing to do by a certain time it starts a sulk/a go slow or a complete strike.

A good kicking helps on those occasions.

Re: When is a sale not a sale?

I had a pair of head phones and a CD in my shopping basket in Amazon. I went back next day and they had both went up in price, in total around 7 pounds. I know it was not the sale.....but still

Re: When is a sale not a sale?

From what I read in the papers, sales are down overall, so I expect there will be some great bargains going soon. Will keep an open mind on make and model, unless someone can recommend a good cheap printer, must be able to do photos.
