DVD Camcorder ? Sony Handycam/Cannon ?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what, make type of camcorder I should go for .I have up to £300 to spend on one .It would be better if it was from a shop rather than online .
Thanks in advance..
I have looked at 2 the Sony Handycam DCR-HC46 and Canon DC-100 DVD Camcorder.

I have the Canon MV800i which is great. Looking at the Argos website they have the newer model MV890 for £199 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/5632105.htm

Have a look here for a list of camcorders, and how they are rated. You can also get reviews of them. For your budget, I would be tempted with the Panasonic NV-GS180 (note that the PV model is quoted on that site, that is the U.S version, the NV is the european model).

A list of retailers is here

Also look over at avforums, for good advice on camcorders.

Why would you pick the Panasonic NV-GS180 for yourself.?

Re: DVD Camcorder .Which one ?

Two years ago I bought the cheapest mini DV camcorder Argos had to offer (Samsung VP-D101) for a family holiday - and it has been a brilliant investment! The quality is excellent, it is easy (though a little slow) to burn the images to DVD, and I really don't mind when the kids mess around with it.
