Road Paint
Afternoon,
Strange request of the day time!
Some Muppet from the local council has decided to paint numbers on our property parking space - it's the stuff they use to paint white lines on roads (not sure what it's called).
What's the easiest way to remove them as we don't want them on there!?
All suggestions welcome!
Cheers
Lee

Re: Road Paint
tbh, I probably wouldn't as the council will be likely to take action against you for doing it (and, thinking on, it's your council tax that will have paid for it, so you'd be wasting your own money ).
9 times out of 10 you'll find that, if you have allocated parking, someone's complained because they haven't been able to park so the council have taken the action to make sure that, technically, the right people are parking in the right places. Not a lot you can do about about it really

Re: Road Paint
I'd imagine its not designed to be removed easily.
Is it private property?

Re: Road Paint
I'm sure the roads department burn them off.
Maybe a blowtorch or similar might either burn it away or loosen it enough to be scraped off.

Re: Road Paint
There are no issues with parking - and it's actually on our property - we have complained about the numbers before as it's a security issue - no car in space - house possibly empty etc.
Whats happened is that we had our plot number on there and the contractor has just come along to burn it off and replaced it with the house number. It was starting to come off due to frost but now it's been removed and replaced. Not Happy.

Re: Road Paint
You would have to burn it off as stated, why not see a local councillor and ask what right the council had to access your property and deface it?

Re: Road Paint
If you are really unhappy about it I would make them come and remove it

Re: Road Paint
Like I said, speak to your local councillor and ask them why it was done without permission to access your property.

Re: Road Paint
Maybe a good strong shovel could get under the paint to lift it / scrape it, but seeing as how it's on your property the council should be made to remove it, as has ben said, what / who gave them the right to do it in the first place ??
Any chance of a piccy or 2 to show a) the paint and b) the local ?
