I had my beautiful, wonderful cat put down this morning. She was knocking on a bit, but it turns out she had a tumour. I'm absolutely devasted

Sad when you have to say farewell to 'friends' but there's always the joy to come of a new friend

No way. No more. I would love to, but I can't put myself through this again. She was such a cool cat too, nothing could match her. She was 17, and so pretty & very funny, you could have a proper (sort of!) conversation with her. One of a kind, my little baby.
Thanks all for the hugs. I can't stop crying now.

Re: I could do with a big cyber hug
Sorry to here about your cat OB. I'm sure in time you'll consider getting another mog. I have had several over the years and I think I always will have one.

I always think about it. But I don't think I've got the heart to do it. I knew this would happen some day, and I liked to think I could deal with it. But I'm not at all. I'm currently wading through a box of tissues like they're going out of fashion. I'm dreadnig going home tonight, I don't want to go back to the house and not hear her howling for food, and see her dishes and her little cat dinner mat and know I'm not going to see her again. I used to love her waking me up by sitting on my chest and purring big and loud an inch away from my face until I opened my eyes. Oh dear. I don't know what to do really. I feel so guilty even though I knew it was the best thing for her.
It's little things she used to do. She loved chinese food and would always sit next to me on the sofa and whack my chopsticks with her paws (whilst I was eating!!) until I gave her some noodles or chicken. Or I share some Wholenut with her - I'd eat the nuts and she'd eat the chocolate. She'd sit on the side of the bath while I was in there. And she used to sit on hubby's feet in the evening while we watched tv. Or twist herself into the most bizarre positions, then nod off with her belly showing, or her legs all in the air, clawing the air with hers paws in sheer bliss. I don't suppose I realised how much of my life revolved around her.
