Future or Past
If you had a time machine and could go forward to the future or back to the past, which would you do and why?

Re: Future or Past
So many choices, is this just to visit and return, or to stay, because that would influence my answer.

I think, given the option of only one, I would go to the future, why ? because I know how the past went via history and books etc, but to be able to see into the future, the things that might be .........................
what we've done to the planet, will it really turn out like planet of the apes
Will we find and make contact with other life.
Will there be a second coming
So many questions, and only so many years left to see some of them answered.
Will one mobile phone network actually manage 100% coverage well, I had to get one slightly daft one in, wouldn't be me otherwise

Re: Future or Past
It'd have to be the past, purely because the future hasn't happened yet so there'll be nothing to visit

Re: Future or Past
If i could change things, i'd like to go back to the past.
But, if we are only allowed to observe, i guess it'd be the future, that way i could see what life has in store for me and do my best to direct myself the best way and try to avoid anything too bad. If we can only observe, i'd hate to go to the past, there'd be no point and it'd just annoy me that i didn't do things the way i should have.

The future beyond my lifetime just to see if we are still here as a race, and see if we have managed to reach other solar systems with alien (to us) life!

Re: Future or Past
It would have to be past for me so I can go back and have look at what a young drunken fool I was and to see if some of the stories are true LOL.

neither, i want to experience the moment I have now, not re-work a mistake or see a potential future.

Re: Future or Past
I'd go back and kill my grandfather, just to see what happens
